Visual Graph Library: Architecture and capabilities of a Java library for graph visualization

The article describes the architecture and capabilities of the Visual Graph Library, a library for storing, laying out, and visualizing hierarchical attributed graphs with ports. The core modules of the system and its integration with the Java platform are considered. An analysis of existing libraries and applications for working with graphs is provided.
